Joseph Trapanese - Composer, Arranger and Producer

Joseph Trapanese is best known for his sleek score work for blockbuster films like “Tron: Legacy,” “Straight Outta Compton,” “The Greatest Showman,” “Oblivion” and the “Raid” series.  As a composer, arranger, and producer for movie, television, theater, and video game music, he has collaborated with a number of mainstream musical acts such as Daft Punk, M83, Mike Shinoda, and Dr. Dre.  Solo work includes films such as “Robin Hood,” “Only The Brave,” “Arctic,” “Earth to Echo,” and two installments of the “Divergent” series.

Born in Jersey City, Trapanese earned his B.M. in classical composition from the Manhattan School of Music. He went on to study at UCLA for his M.A. and taught electronic music composition at the school from 2008-2011.  In 2016, he became a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

In 2013, alongside a tenacious group of composers, artists, and musicians, Trapanese founded The Echo Society.  Aiming to inspire each other and the community around them, the group creates and performs new music showcasing the unique talents and environments of Los Angeles.


Andreas Grimm - Professor, Musician, Composer

Andreas Grimm, born 1962, studied Musicology in Cologne and London, graduating 1991. While attending university he started composing and performing, mainly with the music comedy improv group Die Niegelungen.

In 1995, after engagements as a music critic, radio- and TV-author, Grimm developed the music concept for the German comedy-variety show Die Wochenshow (The weekly news). He wrote the theme song and contributed music for all segments - musical sketches, playbacks, spoofs and underscoring.

In 2003, Grimm composed his first feature score for the big-screen comedy Der Wixxer. He was awarded the German Film Critics award for Best Film Score.

He continued to write original music for comedy, drama, and variety shows (i.e. Pastewka, Ladykracher, Hilfe Hochzeit!, Zwei Weihnachtsmänner and many more), as well as feature scores for Night of the Living Dorks and the Ritter Rost movies

Andreas Grimm also works in theatre, i.e. composing music for stage versions of Cornelia Funke's novels.

He still enjoys working as a session musician. In the past he played with world music legends Dissidenten and acted as musical director and keyboardist for Lena Meyer-Landrut's concert band, winner of the European Song Contest, and the Max Mutzke Band. He continues to perform with his own band. He is a board member of the German composers union Mediamusic e.V. as well as a member of Composers Club and DEFKOM.

Since 2008 Andreas Grimm has been teaching Composition for Media as a professor at the Institute For Music And Media of the Robert Schumann School of Music.



Catherine Joy -  Composer, Executive Director of the Alliance for Women Film Composers, Founder of the Joy Music House

With a passion for music and collaboration, Catherine Joy is a composer for film, media and live performance. She recently won Best Documentary Score for the uplifting feature documentary Gold Balls. She composed additional arrangements for the Emmy-winning doc series Wild Wild Country and was score supervisor and orchestrator on the oscar-nominated RBG. Catherine also scored the popular web series Capitol Hill which is now televised through Europe and Canada. She is currently scoring the video games The Endless Mission along with two documentaries and a feature horror project. She is the Executive Director for the Alliance for Women Film Composers and the Director and Founder of Joy Music House, a one-stop shop for Score Production. 


Cindy O'Connor - Composer, Musical Director and Performer

A 2018 Emmy nominee (Once Upon a Time), Cindy O’Connor is Los Angeles-based composer, music director, and performer. Her background in classical piano, orchestral composition, rock bands, and musical theater has led to a love of telling stories in many musical languages, and she enjoys crafting unique sonic worlds for each project.
Cindy spent seven seasons composing for the ABC series Once Upon a Time in collaboration with Mark Isham. Other TV credits include the series Crash (Starz) and The Black Donnellys (NBC). Her feature film scores include Forgiving the Franklins (Sundance) and the thriller Not Forgotten, starring Simon Baker. Cindy spent her early years arranging, orchestrating, and composing additional music for a variety of Hollywood films, including Warrior, Dolphin Tale, The Mechanic, and Brian DePalma's The Black Dahlia. In 2017 she was selected as one of six Sundance Composer Feature Lab fellows.
A life-long music professional, Cindy has toured the world as a singer and keyboard player, sharing the stage with Pat Benatar, Aloe Blacc, Sting, Danny Elfman, Jack Black, and Petra Haden. Her first love is theater, and her original musicals have been produced across the country, including the Kennedy Center and off-Broadway.


Stephen Warbeck - Film Composer

Stephen Warbeck is one of the the most successful British composers working in film today. His many credits include Shakespeare in Love (Miramax), for which he won an Oscar for Best Original Score; Captain Corelli’s Mandolin (Working Title/Universal), Billy Elliott (Tiger Aspect/Working Title), Birthday Girl (Portobello Films/Film Four/Miramax), Quills (Industry Entertainment/Fox Searchlight), Mrs Brown (Ecosse Films/Miramax) and My Son the Fanatic (BBC/Zephyr Films/Miramax).

Among Stephen's most recent TV works are The Dresser, starring Ian McKellen and Anthony Hopkins, for the BBC and Channel 4's prestigious 10-part drama, Indian Summers, while his most recent film scores include Hampstead (Ecosse Films), The Time Of Their Lives (Bright Pictures), Mon Roi (Les Productions des Trésor), Keeping Rosy (Air Productions/Redemption Films) and Seve (Renaissance Films).
